I can’t say I’m a huge fan of Fords, because I’m not. Before you start going on about GT40s, Fastback Mustangs and such, let me be clear, I’m not a fan of boring Fords, and there are quite a few of them around!
So I’m in two minds about this Ford Explorer I picked up for a customer the other day. On the one hand, it a low-milage survivor with an excellent interior and exterior. All original right down to the tape-deck (it came with some sweet cassettes too) and all the refinements the late 90s/early 2000s had to offer.
So it is cool.
However, it also reminds me of a time when cars were simply made of plastic and even when car companies were being ambitious, many of their offerings were just efforts to cross-platform, share parts and reduce costs. It’s parked up safe for now and will be back on the road again soon, and as a bonus I think I might still have Ice-T Original Gangster on cassette around to spice things up.
